Arrow Did '00 models have immobilizers?

Im trying to figure out a cheaper way to get a 2nd key to my car but before I buy one off ebay I need to know if my car uses an immobilizer. I have searched and found some mixed results. Thanks in advance.

Default 2000 imobilizer

NO you can have a key cut at your local lock smith and it should work mine did. I have read that some mid year models did have immobilizer but i have notseen any that did not work yet.
I have done quit a few of them. I assume you could check with a vag com in the immobilizer group and see if you get a response.

Ive seen a few people mention a immobilizer light on the dash. Is there any way to test for it, like does it light up with the ignition key or something along those lines?

there is no light on the dash. you can check with vag com software in the emobilizer group and see if your car has that module. or get a key cut and if the car doesnt start you know you will have to have it programed at the dealer.
