Hey guys,

just curious if better spark plugs really make a difference in performance like the ads claim?

No... There's usually no more than a 1-2% difference, which degrades fast.

And if your thinking Plasplugs, forget it. Junk.

I use NGK Uridium. They are good plugs. But comparing them to what? and oldstyle NGK they are much better. Comparing them to a Bosch I really don't know if there is a difference. I only use NGK plugs.

One thing is for sure if you have oldstyle plugs or autolites or some other cheapo your sure to notice a difference.

I do wonder if those E3 plugs on the banner work better? Would you be able to run a lesser octane with a better plug? I guess I'll never know.

ive actually tested different plugs in my lancer. I started with ngk double plat. then moved to denso irridium and then ended with pulstars... now this is strictly my findings and by no means am i saying that one is better than the other. but i found that the denso plugs made my car idle rough and the ngk were ok but of the 2 the pulstars felt the best. the car ran extremly smooth and i did see a 1-3 mpg increase using a tank calculation not the in car computer. i am planning on getting a set for my a6 but at $25 a pop, swapping plugs in a v6 or higher becomes a big affair.
but like i said this was a personal test on a non german car. i take these results as my own and do not expect anyone else to accept them as i have no hard data for it, only personal experience.

The thing with 'better' plugs is increasing the firing rate... No plug fires 100% of the time. RapidFire, Ugroove, E3, etc are attempt to increase the sharp edges and thus the firing rate.

^^???

Not sure what you are wanting me to see? I dont really see any answers or tech, unless you really want to know how to get stickers for your car?

Thought this was funny, for $25 each:
How long will my Pulstar Plugs last?

Pulstar lasts as long as most traditional (non-iridium or platinum) spark plugs - about 50,000 miles, depending on the condition of your vehicle and driving habits.
Ya... ok. You keep them.

The difference is longetivity. Any plug will work fine when first installed. A better plug will keep working for a longer time. As Midnightoyl said, it has to do with edges, since that is where the spark jumps from. The longer the edges remain sharp, the longer the plug lasts.

The Bosch Platinum +4 are as good as any other "superior" plugs. I have them in the car and no "syncopes" so far since April.
