I'm a new owner of a 2002 A6 2.7T 6 speed and was talking with another guy that just bought one. He was surprised how expensive an oil change was and told me that they charged him for two oil filters. Does this car have two oil filters? If so, I can't see the purpose! I'm thinking this guy's mechanic just took him to the bank. What's the story?

BTW, I love this damned thing and I want to take care of it properly! That, however, doesn't include getting soaked by some crooked mechanic! LOL

OMG! I was gonna try to get on here and delete this post before everyone on the planet found out I'm an idiot! LOL I just called the local dealer and they got a kick out of that too! I told the woman in parts that I'd heard this second hand from another new owner and, if this was the case, I wanted to know about it. She said it only had one. "Like every other car on the planet?" I asked her? She kind of laughed!

Anyways, I hope my stupid question made everyone's day a little brighter, even if it was at my expense! LOL
