Default Dome lights go dead after auto lock cycles

Has anyone ever had their reading/dome lights go out the instant that the central locking system locks the car doors after reaching the road speed of about 10mph?

Mine does. I think it is a programming error that might be correctable with VAG COM. I do not have VAGCOM yet but plan to get it sooner rather than later. I havea 2003 2.7T quattro. What do you think?

Anyone have some experience with VAG COM. Is Ross Tech the only way to go. What can you really do with it. Does it work on a laptop with VISTA?

You need windows to run the VAG COM, ross tech is the best and IMHO the only way to be sure it will work correctly.
There are thousands of things you can do with the vag com, from coding control units to manually activating systems like the secondary air pump. It will probably take you years to learn how to use half of the functions its capable of.
As for the dome lights, i have no idea.

More directly, canone use VAG COM to correct the interior lightsproblem? Is there a way with VAG COM to turn other things on or off through the road speed as is done to lock the doors?

I have the same problem, I had a 2-way remote start alarm system put in, and ever since the lights dont work until i manually unlock the doors by hitting the button. Then they work just fine, I can unlock and lock them as i please, just no after the auto lock. I dont know if its a programming issue or now, but they still work so i dont care.
