Door Latch shows open
 

My display shows door open, unless I slam the door.The door is open and wont engage the locking mechanism, anyone ever have this happen ? Audi wants $ 595 to fix it. They say the micro processors are worn out.

Probably need a new door latch mechanism. It's a common failure part as our A6's age. I changed mine a few years back. Follow this write up: http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?p=15013077

I chose to just replace my latch with a used one. Think I paid $75.00, but can't really remember. If it fails again, I will do the repair linked to above.
