Drivers sides lumbar support not working
 

The lumbar support on my 2002 A6 is not working. Passengers side works fine. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a simple fix (fuse perhaps?).

Check the resistance in the switch! Rule that out first. Most commonly it is the switch.

Take the switch from the passenger side plug it in and check it. If it works order a new switch

Aha - where can I find this switch. I am assuming you are not talking about the 4-position switch directly affixed to the drivers seat?

This might seem like a stupid question - but how do I get it off? I tried twisting if off but it didn't seem like it wanted to budge. I didn't want to pry it off and snap it.

Is anyone aware of an online repair manual I can look at while I order a repair paper manual.

I had to do this fall. Its kind of a pain in the a$$. There are two screws you will have to remove first. The screws hold the plastic trim on, which will have to be removed...(very bottom of the seat). The 1st screw is in dead center of the seat (on the underside). Its a small black philips head. The second is in the rear of the seat (just off center closer to the door, again on the underside of the trim. Just feel around for it, you should find it.

P.S. Use the smallest stubbiest philips head screwdriver you can find or better yet 1/4 ratchet with a philips bit, so you can attack it from a 45 degree angle.

Remove the trim. Dont hesitate to gently pull it away from the seat as there might be a couple of clips that hold it intact.

Once the trim is removed you should have better access to disconnect the wiring harness and the 2-4 fastners that hold it on.

Try moving the seat all the way up, back, up...etc to gain more appropriate access.
