I didn't think DV's affected the sound?

I have 710Ns on my Stg I 2.7T with no problems.

Get the whole blow off valve idea out of your head. They really don't work with these cars. You need a diverter valve. You can get a whoosh sound if you replace your intake, but most here wouldn't recommend messing with your intake either. I have the 710N diverter valves and they are a really good option.

I wanna know also. Can we use BOV's as long as they are recirculating? I know the HKS SSQ has a recirculation kit that you can by. I would think it would work as a DV

I have the Hyperboost DV's. I am very happy with them and they can be serviced! Do not worry about installing BOV's nor the Hybrid type. They are not designed for the car nor do they add a performance gain!

Two of these:

Or two of these:

If you use the SpltRs you will need to remove the horn from one to fit.

I think you can go with the Hyperboost Compact, Forge 007 or the APR R1. They all will work great. The APR may even react a little bit faster since it is a diaphram DV as oppose to the metal piston DV.
