Default Electrical problem (confusing)

so i drove down the parkway for an hour got to my aunts then went to go to the store and notices that my turn signals, wipers, heat, and headlights don't work....so i checked the fuses none were blown? i drive for about 5 min and all the sudden it all kicks back on! but driving it everyday i seem to notice that it is doing this more and more now they all dont work after i drive somewhere tehn start the car again and it kicks back on after a couple minutes... so i looked for the relays and can't find them but i found a "big silver box" that could be the relays? any help on this would be much appreciated. 2000 a6 2.7t quattro

Sounds like you might have a bad ground wire someplace.

Does it make a difference when you giggle the key?

Yep yep yep It might be the damn ignition switch.

Please tell us how to giggle the key! Do we tell it a joke or tickle it?

They ran a lot of power through the ignition switch... much more than they should have. There is a recall dealing with the connections. Mine burnt out and I replaced them before I knew about the recall. Next time I am in there I'll put in an additional "Load Reduction Relay."

Anyway, I second NH USA's "damn ignition switch"!!! (Giggling or not!)
