electronic throttle adjustment on 2001 4.2

Is there any way to adjust the sensitivity of the electronic throttle on a 2001 4.2? It seems way too sensitive when first starting out. I have gotten used to it but I'm starting to teach my 16 year old daughter how to drive and its still a challenge for her.

Thanks.

Its probably just a little torque your feeling, when the engine is cold its in open loop. Meaning the O2 sensors are ignored and the fueling is applied solely by the MAF sensor. You really shouldn't drive the car right after you start it anyway, let it warm up for about a minute and the "kick" should be a little less.
As for adjusting the electronic throttle, no there isn't any way to adjust it. If the car has too much power for your daughter to learn on, use a different car that doesn't have 300 horse power.

The car is more jumpy when still worming up. Deffinitly let the car worm up and you should be ok. Eather way the car is still kinda quick responding out of the hole. If you really were worryed about it you could have a chip made to tone it down. I talked to the guys at VAST Performance about a ECU and TCU program. They said they could make the throttle more agressive so I don't see why they couldn't slow it down. not only that but you could probably get a valet chip do if you let her drive it the car will be down on power and more manageable...just a thought...
