I recently began noticing annoying engine resonance (buzzing vibration) through the steering wheel and body when idling in any gear (D, R, etc.) with my foot on the brake such as when waiting at a stoplight. This does not occur in neutral or park. I have a 2000 A6 4.2 with 78,000miles. Inspection under the car reveals nothing obvious and the engine idles and runs smoothly otherwise. Idle is about 500 or 600 RPM. This seems llike very un-Audiilike behavior. Has anyone experienced similar behavior or have any suggestions? Thanks.

 

Our car doing exactly the same thing. It's been a while since you posted, did you get it resolved?
