Default Exhaust cutouts on bumper change?

Since I have a 3.0 I only have one cutout for the exhaust on my rear bumper. I want to get dual exhaust (mostly because it looks really good). Can I take off the plastic part and change it out with one from a 2.7T A6? Will it fit right?
Here's a picture of the part in question:

I was thinking about that, but with my luck it would be totally screwed. Will the dual cutout fit?

I was going to have local shop split it into two. I want to change out the muffler and tips, so I figured they might as well dual it out and put another muffler and tips on.
Will this not work? It's FWD so it looks like there is plenty of room for more pipe back there.

I don't have an A6, but on the A4 there really isnt enough room because of the gas tank. Also you really cant call splitting the exhaust into two mufflers a "dual exhuast". A dual exhaust begins at the exhaust headers.

Yeah I know, it wouldn't be "true dual."
How do the 2.7T A6s run dual exhaust back there? I figured I would have enough room since they have duals, unless the gas tank is in a different spot on those.

Yeah, I just want the look, plus a little sound, especially since the CVT can't handle much more torque than stock. If it would work, I would get it split somewhere in the mid section, and run two Borlas.

Let me know if you find out more on replacing the rear exhaust cutouts. I have the 2.7T (2000) with the hidden, dual exhaust.
What's the point of hiding the tips? Turbo Audi buyers don't want stuff hiddden...we want the world to know. Good luck with whatever you do.
