front brake and rotor help

ok, so my front pads and rotorsare way beyond min specs, and i can't seem to get the caliper off to change the rotor. I already did the rears, which i might add were fairly easy. but i just cant seem to get even the pads off of that monster caliper. if anyone can help, please do. thank you:(i hate not being able to drive my baby.

RE: front brake and rotor help

To change the rotors and pads you have to take off the large 21mm or 22mm bolts that hold the entire caliper assembly on. Removing the allan bolts aren't needed.

RE: front brake and rotor help

to change the rotors the front brakes are pretty easy this is what your goonna need
i take the whole caliper and bracket off which is much very easy
17mm or 19mm cant remember exact bolt size of thecaliper bracket boltsocket 1/2in drive
12mm socket 1/2in drive
breaker bar would be suggested with 1/2in drive
first
follow the hard line of the break line. there will be a clamp that hold the line in place located near the bottom bolt of the caliper bracket. its a 12mm bolt
next
there will be 2 bolts that holds the caliper bracket on. locate them and break them free. take them out and the caliper is free with the bracket!!!

That is it for the pads u will need a clamp or i cant remember if i pushed the piston in my bhand but that all you have to do. install new pad remember to disconnect the sensor pad line.

that is a different way of doing it. but i did my rotors about 3 months ago with drilled rotors for the front and rear was pretty easy.about a total of 10 bolts for all 4 wheels [not including the wheel lug bolts lol]

I ran into the same problem. I did the back pretty easy, even painted the calipers, but I couldn't get the front off. They are totally right, you need a breaker bar, 1/2 inch, with a 21 or 22 mm. Here is a link you can look at.http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articl...rakestwin.html. good luck.
