Default Fuel Pump testing

Hey all, I was told I can test the fuel pump for my 2000 A6 2.7t by applying 12v across its terminals on the fuel pump. There are four connectors or prongs on the connectors, assuming one of these connectors is a negative how exactly can I do this or is there another way to test the fuel pump from that connection on the fuel pump itself. And most importantly I should purchase the fuel pump from and what tools will I need for the install

Unfortunately I do not have any vag tools and there are no Audi dealerships in ST. Thomas

Please help Desperate in ST. Thomas

my schematic shows green/yellow, brown/yellow, lilac/black, and brown.
green/yellow is fuel pump positive, brown is ground. The other 2 are for the fuel level sender.
