Abbot, I still miss your signature on the S-line...thing. If possible, put it back...it used to make my day, everytime I saw it

Multiple discussion threads on this topic in the forum - do a search.

I am chipped and use midrange consistently. I have not noticed any performance loss or knocking. I also do not accelerate hard, under which conditions knocking would manifest itself. I have calculated actual mpg using both midrange and premium and the difference is insignificant, given I could not travel the same route at the same speed.

I believe the compression on the 2.7T is less than in the 4.2 and (maybe) even less than in the 2.8. So it will tolerate slightly lower octane better than the other two engines.

Chipped: The car do not come chipped, some people buy aftermarket tuning chips for more power.

I didn't buy my car from a dealer. Does that make a difference? And how can i find out? can i do it myself?
