It isnt as bad as most people think I dont know why you have your heart set on making that tool. But the whole procedure shuold go pretty smooth if you take your time and read the bentley manual and look at the audiworld walkthrough. Id say the worst part is actually getting to the belt. Make sure you also replace the water pump at the same time, you might as well becuase once your in there you wont want to be for atleast another 70k. GOOD LUCK

Just called the "stealership". $1700 to change the timing chain and water pump. DEFINITELY something I think I'm going to do myself. So where can I get a complete write up on this?Where can I get the Bentley manual? Silly question......what's the deal with getting a Bentley manual? They don't make Audi manuals?

2k - Is it just me or does it look like you can take off and replace your turbos without taking the engine out?

Bentley manuals get rave reviews and you can buy them online. I have seen a couple of wite ups on this but I think you are better off going step by step with the manual. one write up I saw proceeded without doing the pretension as they were apprehensive about loosening the cam bolt locks. this is wrong. IF you loosen the bolts ( with cam lock tool in place ) nothing will move but the sprockets themselves. If you do not do this your timming will be off. I dont believe however that it would be off much as I had to loosen the idler and tensioner on the block in order to get the belt on. in other words ther was not much slop to make up for. good luck BENG
