Default GRRRR/WRRRRRR noise when ABS cuts in

OK I changed my rotor, pads and brake fluid about 600 miles ago and within the last 200 miles I have started to have a problem very occasionally when coming to a rolling stop from a slow speed (rolling stop from 5mph or less) it will sound like the electronic side of the ABS is trying to cut in, and I get a noise from under the dash.

in addition tonight I noticed that during very hard ABS stops i get a kind of GRRRR/WRRRR noise from what sounds like under the drivers side of the dash. It sound like a pump sort of sound.

any ideas what this could be, i know when I changed the fluid at no point did the master cylinder run dry or even below the minimum mark (I was paranoid about air getting into the system.

Many thanks
James

Sounds like it could be a dirty abs sensor.

Since the grrrr/rrrr noise occurs on hard stops, you can also check the vacuum hose going to the brake booster if the noise comes from "under the driver side of the dash".
I'm just taking a guess though.

Where is this hose you are talking about?

In the engine bay, if you look behind the brake master cylinder, you'll see a big black "baloon". That's the brake booster.
You should be able to locate the vacuum line/hose coming into it... the line runs from the front of the intake manifold, alongside/on top of the driver side valve cover, and has somewhere in the mid section the Y-shaped check valve.

OK so i checked the lines under the hood and it does not appear that there are louse of split pipes. I dont notice any difference in the peddle feel so would I hear anything if there were air in the brake lines?
