Question Gutting a Cat

When I drove Jap cars I use to gut the cats. Can you do this on an Audi? And is it beneficial? Thanks!

I don't know about SC, but in California or any high emission standard states, it is a no-no. It will fail smog testing.

No emissions in SC no Vehicle inspections. So will this mess with the car at all?

Not sure I want to get into it, but you can certainly gut the pre-cats or just do DPs and high flow cats. Thats a common set-up. Its an Audi not a CRX.

C'mon man, think green!

im form fl so in know you can get away with it but your talking about messing with the cat on a car a little more advanced than a civic. you could really throw the computer into shock. i would almost guarantee you us more fuel and with the cost of gas i would leave it be. i say more fuel because the car i think will try to over compensate. just buy high flow cats and hope for the best

I live in Va and I got it done. This is called having 'piggies' people pay to get this done. By gutting the cats and the downpipes you open up the restriction. You will notice better throttle and slight power with a chip reflash. Unless you have a smog test you are straight to get this done. No shop will be able to tell it has been done. Straight pipes now r different
