just picked up a 99 a6 2.8 quattro for a project it has a bad engine (snapped timing belt) and even though i have a good 2.8 that i could drop in i was thinking theres people that are putting new engines in old cars well wouldnt it be neat to put a old engine in a new car and combine 2 of my favorite cars into one? so heres what i was thinking i have a very healthy 455 big block buick that was in a 71 skylark drag car and a gm turbo 400 automatic that will probably collect more dust until i find another 70-72 skylark to put it in so i thought it would be neat to put it in the a6 and have a car that is fast and will handle because 60's and 70's muscle cars dont handle at all i know this will probably be a longshot but i was wondering if anyone has ever done anything like this before and how it turned out ithought this would be cool project if it could be done because i currently have a 96 a4 that is my daily driver and it is almost as much fun to drive as my 68 skylark because of the handling but it dont set you back in the seat like the buick will so if it cant be done i guess i will put another 2.8 in it and see what kind of power i can get it to make.
