Has anyone ever changed REAR stabalizer links on a 2005 or newer A6?
Hearing a rattle over bumps coming from right rear of 2005 A6 3.2. Had it up on the lift and everything is tight. Exhaust, shocks, etc.... I am replacing the front control arms and stabilizer links as they are making noise. The noise from the rear sounds sort of like the front so I am going to guess its the rear links. Has anyone experienced this noise? Could it be the rear control arms. I never heard anyone replacing the rear arms before? The set up is different than the front for sure as I looked at the schematic of the rear suspension.
I really don't think it is shock related as the rear end doesn't bounce or leak any fluid from the shocks. The car has 135k miles. Any thoughts? I guess the cheapest rout would be to replace the rear stabilizer links as they are like 80 bucks for the pair.

Well its not really a squeak as so much a rattle. It sounds like the shock mount is loose or a loose exhaust hanger, but visually there is nothing there. I don't want to tear the shock off as this will be a huge labor bill. The car doesn't bounce and handles fine. No leaks,etc... There are so many threads on the front stabilizer links, but nothing on the rear. Why do the fronts go bad, but not the rears?
