Headlight Bulb Change
Love my audi - 3 weeks ago left headlight failed, and the nice Audi dealership charged me £40 to replace it !
The other one has gone now - the manual recommends taking into the dealership, cos its a bit fiddlesome. Is it really that difficult ? ( is 2003 A6 2.5tdi standard headlight - UK drivers side - right) Be gentle with me - first post, and the only maintenance I have ever done to a car is to empty the ashtrays........... |
RE: Headlight Bulb Change
There's a black cover behind the headlight held on by metal fasteners. Pop the metal fasters out of the way, pop off the black cover. Twist out the harness gently. Pull the bulb out of the harness. Installation is reverse...make sure when you put in the new bulb, don't touch it with your fingers because the oils from your fingers will create a hot-spot and burn it out prematurely, use a clean rag or handkerchief to hold the bulb.

RE: Headlight Bulb Change
sounds straight forward - the way the drivers manual refers to it you'd think you have to take the engine out. Thanks for your advice.........

RE: Headlight Bulb Change
Yeah it's pretty straight forward, the manual says that because if you do it yourself, Audi doesn't get any money:D
