Hello!!!
I bought an 2001 A6 about 3 weeks ago. It is the 2.7T with about 107000miles on it. Really high miles but runs good! I found out the previous(think only) owner was a real estate agent(found his business cards under the E brake in the console). The dealer I bought it from unfortunitly didn't have the previous owners maintence papers, so not sure what has been done to it![&:] This is my 1st Audi I've owned so not sure if I should take it to a dealer have them look it over and make sure it is good or should I take it just to a Audi mehanic? There is a noise when I turn the steering wheel to the right, seems to only make it when going under 20mph. Besides that no other noises and runs really well!! Any suggestions what I should do? Thanks!!
Congrats on the car DJ. If you just read through the forum you will find tons of information on various things and you will learn a lot about the car you are driving. At this point you might not know what to search for, but once you come across issues, you can use the search section to search with keywords. Most of the time your question would already have been asked by a different person and would have been answered by the many Audi experts here.
Coming to your question about the noise when your turn your steering wheel, is it a clicking sound? If yes, it could probably be your CV joint. I am sure the experts can give you more information. Enjoy your car!

Thanks for the welcome and so far love the car!! On the noise it sounds more like a rubbing. I read one thread and sounds like it might be the bushings! It only happens when I turn the wheel right, not left!
On the noise I was talking about earlier, when I rained the other day the noise stopped for a day or 2. I think I need to grease up my bushings in the control arms! Any recommendation of what type of grease or will wd40 work? Not really sure what to use?
