Default Help...

I found some nice 2000 S4 Rims. I own a 2000 A6 4.2. I was wondering if those would fit on my car. I checked the sizes for both cars and all matched besides the OE size. Wtf is that? If it's rim size then I have original 17" on my car as well. Does anyone know if those rims will fit onto my car?

2000 S4 / OE Size=17x7.5 / Bolt=5x112 / Lug Nut=14mmX1.5b / CB=57.1 / ET=Medium

2000 A6 4.2 / OE Size=15x6.5 / Bolt=5x112 / Lug Nut=
14mmX1.5b / CB=57.1 / ET=Medium

OE = Origional Equipment

The bolt pattern is the same.
The 15s are narrower.
My 98 Avant has 16s .
The most important thing is to make sure the rolling dia is the same --

See if Tire rack sugests the 17x7.5 as a up size for your car

If I understand correctly, depending on the year (which years I don't know), your biggest concern is clearing the calipers.

I know this isn't very helpful, but may help guide you in your search.

The B5 S4 Avus wheels wtih ET45 offset will clear the calipers, but they will not look good on the 4.2 with the wider fender flares. The wheels will look "sucked-in" from the wheel opening in the fenders. If you like the design of the Avus wheels, find a set of C5 S6 Avus wheels which are 17x8" ET35 offset, and will look MUCH better on the 4.2

Just my two cents...

lol. I kinda figured that out lol. I checked and my tires are 255wide and the S4 rims are 225[sm=smiley36.gif]...would look mad weird, but I love the look of those rims.. your info was very helpful

yes, BD's right, OFFSET is key!
plus a 7.5 rim is too narrow for a 255 tire IMO
