HELP! Driver side doors don't lock or unlock.

Started a couple of days ago.

Driver's side door and read door won't lock or unlock with the key FOB or with the button on the inside of the door panel.

My buddy VAG-COM'ed my car but all it gave us was:

"driver's side door cannot lock or unlock"
"rear left door cannot lock or unlock"

Thanks VAG, I couldn't figure that one out.

IS there a module someplace that controls one side of the car door actuators that may be bad? Is it possible both door lock actuator's went bad at the same time?

thanks in advance.

I'm no pro, I just drive, but can give you my experience and maybe it will provide a clue or 2.

I found that if I hit the remote lock button with the driver's side door open, everything locks but my driver's door. I then have to hit unlock to get the other doors open, or hit lock to get the drivers side to lock.

Can you open it with a key? Try turning the key to unlock and holding it for a few seconds. I know if you turn the key to lock and hold it, it will roll up all the windows too.
These cars seem to have a lot of "hidden features" like this.

I know, it's not an answer, but it may give you some troubleshooting clue.

I suspect you set it into a similar mode, that you just have to un-do.

The comfort control module #46 controls all the locks. When you interrogated #46, what exactly were the fault codes? I mean what were the numbers?

The actual codes were 01561 and 01559.

Un-plug the comfort control module (under the carpet on the driver's side) and plug it back in. Also look for any water and or corrosion on the connector pins.

Do u mean sitting under the driver's seat? If not where exactly is it? How do I pull the carpet up?
