Help opinion needed on 01 a6 purchase free CarFax's
 

Hello everybody Im excited to be here.
Currently I have set my mind on purchasing an audi which will be a whole new jump from my previous car's.
I am coming from the whole VIP styling also known as Bippu and recently just sold my 00' q45
as for now I am driving a 3.2tl

Now I have grown an interest into the world of AUDI and I believe the a6 can deliver exactly what I am looking for.

Although my main goal was to find the 2.7T model I have recently stumbled upon a 2001 2.8quattro with 60k miles and a price tag of $9,500.

IS THIS A GOOD PURCHASE ??

I pulled the carfax on the car it revealed 6 owners and not to many "service performed" section's but I do believe with 60k the car still has good hope mechanically.
I am dieHard 93octane synthethic oil only user ect....

The guy was asking $10,900 and told me that if I come with a $200 depositby tommorow he will lock the 9,500 price for me.

ALSO: Since I believe in bringing something to the table Whoever needs a carfax on there car please let me know I willbe more then happy to help.

Also as I searched the forums I noticed the main issue with the 2.8 is power.

How bad is this problem Am I fueling a v6 but driving a v4?


And the main question Dose anybody know of a good Audi Mechanic located in Lodi, New Jersey

hey there. I just bought a 2000 2.8, with 97k for $6.5k. I thought it was a steal, but it came straight from a dealer auction, so I wasn't surprised by the price. I do love the car, the feel is just great. As far as the power, the 2.8 isn't the quickest. I wouldn't call it slow, but its no S4, which is what I originally wanted. Coming from Japanese cars, an Audi will cost you more in maintenance. I haven't owned mine long enough to tell you if its worth it, but there is a board full of people here that say it is.

If you were looking at a 2.7t, I wouldn't settle for 2.8. Even if its a good deal. As far as a mechanic, I wouldn't know, I'm from MN/CO.
