Hose Disconnected f/ Coolant Reservoir - Don't know where it goes?

YEAR: 1999

ENGINE: 2.8L

The hose on the back of my coolant reservoir got disconnected and I can't find the hose it attached to??

Coolant is slowly leaking out and I already bought new hose line. I just need to know where it goes, I'm in desperate need because coolant is slowly leaking out of it. Please help.

I attached a pic with a red arrow showing exactly where on the coolant reservoir I'm talking about.

I have an '01 2.8. Nothing goes there (on mines), don't know if the '99 was different, but the coolant pretty much goes to the ground when it overflows out of that spot.

Check two things:

- Too much coolant in the reservoir?

- Is your tank cracked? (very common)

I don't have a hose there either. I had some coolant leaking there, so I unbolted the tank, 3 screws, and picked it up and set it back down. I think that spot is where overfill coolant goes. The valve on my tank got stuck open, moving it and seems to help. If that is not your issue you may have a crack in the tank.

Hope this helps you.

Overflow Check Valve Goes There...

It's just a black plastic one-way valve, that turns to an "L", just below the tank. A thin, molded overflow hose connects to the L-shaped check valve. Once the coolant expands past the MAX level - hot coolant will bleed out into the belly pan.
