I have a 96 Audi A6 Quattro and I've read what the Bentley manual says but I still can't find where the thermostat is. Could someone please help me out how to get to it. Thanks.

 

If it is a 2.8 plan on doing the waterpump, timing belt, pullies etc when going after the thermostat. It is berried in the front of the motor. Check Blauparts for the TB Kit -they include instructions and will rent you the tools needed.
