I cant seem to find it again
ok I have a 2001 a6 2.7t and the car when you hit the throttle a friend of mine says it looks like it is burning oil, but only when i really try to get up and go. I saw on the forum that it could be a rear cam seal or somthing but i cant find it now any help or ideas, by the way the nearest audi dealership is about 6 hours away> any help would be awesome
The friend of yours said it looked like it was burning oil from where? The tail pipes? The motor compartment? What did he see to make him think it is burning oil? Or, dud he just smell oil burning?
Burning oil is usually black or dark. I suspect that if you are running in cold weather and getting on the gas, you are seeing what is normal condensation. My car regularly puts out some light white "smoke" when warming up or when accelerating is cold weather, even when it's on the highway at high speed. I think if you do a search, you will find this normal.
After the car is warmed up, if the "smoke" smells heavily of gas, then you may be running too rich. Or if it is continuous and smells of antifreeze, then you may have a water leak (not good).
I suspect it will all but disappear in warmer weather. Unless you already be down south, in which case ignore my comments and start $aving.
