Default I thought I found something useful for everyone, but...

Well I had a seal leak recently and got a little help from Ryuuoh.

At that time he pointed out an "updated" oil filler cap that releases pressure build up in order to prevent the engine from blowing seals.

I went to ESCTuning, found it on their website and ordered it!

I just recieved it 2 days ago and I started this thread to show you guys how it is designed so that you could decided if you wanted one as well, BUT....

When I looked for it on the ESC webpage to link you guys to it, it's no longer there! WTF?

I dont know if ECS pulled it because it caused problems or cel's so now I am afraid to use it!

Anyway, here are the pics. There is a center hole that the pressure can blow into and it is releived by 2 rectangular holes on the side of the cap:

The dealer has been selling that cap for at least a year.

All I needed was a new o-ring on mine. So I called the dealer expecting to pay 5 bucks for stupid o-ring. The parts guy said they didn't have an o-ring for it but were now stocking a new oil cap that reduces pressure. Told me it was $30 bucks and I just about sh*t myself. That is a lot of money for an oil cap, but what the hell.

He told me they had been using it for about 4 months at that time and replacing all their service cars with them. After having my cam seals done about 2 months prior to that (at an indy) I though ok, I will just pay them their stupid 30 bucks and be done with it.

I feel lucky with my local Audi dealer. They have always been very decent to deal with. Spendy, but decent.
