Im originally from Michigan but i have been in Chicago area for a couple years now. There are a couple APR dealers around here, but i havent really been able to find a specific tuner shop that would do the "once over" youre talking about. Is anyone aware of a shop like this near 60462?

I drive pretty conservatively while accelerating so even with the chip, i dont plan on WOT from every red light or anything.

I don't know of anyone in that area.

Then again, VAST is about a 4 hour drive from where you are, might be worth the day trip to get it done right.

well, i think i might know where the lack in fuel mileage was coming from. On a drive today, the car billowed white smoke out the exhaust. I opened the hood and noticed smoke coming from the area of the passenger side turbo. I have been smelling burning oil for a week or so but i assumed it was just an oil leak dripping on the exhaust. So it seems i have a blown turbo.

Any suggestions on where to find some replacements turbos quickly?

This sucks!

Thats a tough break, if you plan on changing the turbos is much easier to change all the vacuum lines and check it out when the engine is out of the car, so make sure you do that as well.
A lot of folks sell K03/K04 turbos, i suggest upgrading to the K04's, as they are larger and will be much more durable. You can also run them without any extra tuning if you wish to do so.
Here is a set from http://shop.achtuning.com/browseprod...Audi-2.7T.html
This is a set with all the related hardware and hoses. http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C5_A6-.../Turbo/ES1372/

There is a company that just started to sell a replacement turbo for the K04, it is a identical turbo dimensionally, and no its not the cheap Ebay knock offs but they had a set for $1,400.

Post was on another Audi forum. I just replaced my driver side turbo after the seal went, I bought a slightly used turbo from VAST and it was $600 in labor. The guy I had do it dropped the subframe and replaced the turbo.

I had considered going to K04's but wasn't sure if I was going to keep the car or not.

Eric, What was the company that sold the set for $1400? Has there been any reviews by actual buyers? I considered K04s but the price is double the K03s.
Did you just call VAST and ask if they had any K03s?

I have no other info except for the post I found on another forum. The company was one that was around for a while and it was not VAST. It originally was on Audizine but I can't find the post now.

VAST does have used turbo's, thats where I got my replacement from.

If you call them talk to Prince and tell him what you need, BTW, they did not replace my turbo, I just bought the replacement from them. I had an independent mechanic do it mostly due to cost, about 50 percent what an indy would charge me.

Eric, I think i found what you were talking about. The shop is JHM and the turbo dealer is RP Turbos. For AZ members its 1400 shipped. They have 12 month warranty too. It seems like JHM is a reliable source, and for about half the cost of BW-K04s it sounds good. They have tested them "for a few months" but im curious how they stand the test of time.

I have read on here that K04s can be ran with a stock setup except inlet pipes. But my question is-because the K04s push more air at the same PSI, will i have any chance of hurting my Auto trans?

Also, i have found plenty of threads and videos on engine removal, but i havent found one with an auto trans. Are there any major differences in the removal and reinstallation?

Another thing i just thought of. I am assuming that my turbos are blown just based on the smoke pouring out the exhaust. Is there a sure fire way to find out if that is actually the case?
