Hi fellas,


Im new to posting on this board but have been reading on here for some time now. I have an 05 4.2 A6 Non S-Line. I have been looking into inexpensive ways to drop the car down a little and improve handling. I want to put some 19" wheels on the car but with the Non sline suspension and the gap that exists, the 19's will look stupid.

I bought an 07 S6 suspension from someone on a board who upgraded his S6 to some H&R stuff.


My question is what problems could I run into with this install. Its come to my attention that the springs in the front would be designed to hold up the v10 as opposed to the v8 I have which is lighter and could possibly make the suspension bouncy or even sit higher then intended in the front since there isnt enough weight to load the springs down.

Doesnt anyone have any insight on this? I called my Audi service rep and he said he doesnt think it will be a problem but hell need to speak to his main technician. What do you guys think?

It looks like no one did something similar, so probably you'll have to experiment on your own.
Did the Audi serv rep get back to you with a reply from their mechanic?
Just do the front and if it doesn't turn as you want, you can switch back to the present setup.

Anyway, if you look to improve handling, probably going to a bigger wheel (19'') will have a contrary effect as you'll ride on tires with a smaller sidewall.
