Jerky Transmisssion on 2000 A6 Quattro 2.7T - HELP!!!
I have a 2000 A6 Quattro 2.7T V6 with 98K miles - automatic transmission. Replaced the torque converter, bearings, and clutch about 700 miles ago. ATF levels are where they should be.
**When the car is cool, shifts fine.
**When the car is warmed up and running at normal temp (after a few miles), the transmission starts to shift roughly. It isn't slipping at all, but the jerk is fairly significant.
-From 0 - 10 mph = fine
-From 15 - 20 mph, trans jerks (from 1st to 2nd?)
-From 20 - 30 mph = fine
-From 35 - 40 mph, trans jerks (from 3rd to 4th?)
-From 40+ mph = fine
Same with deceleration, usually.
I live in a major city, so there is a lot of lights / traffic / stop & go. Mostly 25 - 50 mph. But I do not drive very far, I live close to work/social areas, so maybe 40 miles daily average.
What is wrong with my trans??? Mechanical?? Electrical?? Both??
Anyone have similar issues? How do I cure this???
