Just purchased a 2002 Audi S6 avant,couple of ?s
Greetings-I think that my luck has finally changed, found this S6 on the Mass. Craigslist (I'm from RI), excellent condition,1 owner, low miles (97K),so I had to buy it (yesterday).I know that every state has different laws, but will I get slammed with additional fees when I register it because the car originally had a "gas guzzler tax" due to the 4.2 litre V8s terrible gas mileage? Do people sometimes register an S6 as an A6 to avoid additional costs? I also have the same concerns for when I call my insurance company on Monday.I know that the VIN will probably identify the car as an S6, but will the insurance company pick upon it if I accidentally called it an A6? Thanks in advance for your help, regards,Paul,Providence, RI EDIT: If it's possible to move this post to the S forum, I'd appreciate it. Sorry for my stupidity.

No problems at all with S6
I was pleasantly surprised that when I registered the S6 last week , that I wasn't charged taxes on the "book value" of the car , just taxed on the amount that I said that I paid for the car. Same thing with the Insurance Company, got out of there for less than $600.00 for the year , this made me very happy. Paul
