Quick question. can i take the key part out of my remote and put it on a new one. My is all beat up and stealer want and arm and a leg for a new one.

Short answer - yes, but...

Longer answer - if it works depends on if you have an immobilizer in your car. If you do, you need to also switch out (very carefully) the RFID chip from the old one. And you need to make sure the remote is compatible.

Easiest thing would be to buy one of the replacement plastic shells to match what you have now (two button, three button, etc.) and switch all the guts. That way you don't need to re-code everything, plus it's cheaper than buying a new fob. Check on e-bay.
