Looking to buy an '08 A6 - question about Carfax reports
Looking at a few CPO A6's at a local dealer and when I check the carfax on them, I see this:
Engine removed for repair
Timing chain tensioner seal replaced
Is this something that I should be concerned about? It seems like the dealer has done this on 80% of the CPO cars I've checked.
Here are a few of the Carfax reports:

Are these cars that I should stay away from?
TIA!

I believe on that car the timing chain is at the rear of the engine and anything having to do with it, such as a seal, tensioner or guide, requires removal of the engine. In my opinion, this was a terrible design decision. So, unless Audi is going to warranty this engine for as long as you own the car, I'd have to recommend shopping elsewhere.
Good luck,
