Looking at used 2012 A6 3.0 Prestige, any reliability issues?
 

I’m considering the purchase of a 2012 A6 3.0 Prestige and curious to get your opinion or knowledge on any reliability issues I should be aware of? The A6 has approximately 65k miles and is not CPO due to the mileage and year of the car. Also, I’d like to know if what upcoming maintenance services I should be aware of? Is there a 75k service maintenance? How much? Any other things that should be replaced on a high mileage car? What should I look for in terms of inspecting the vehicle? It’s got a clean carfax and had one owner which was bought and serviced at the dealership I am thinking of purchasing it from. I need all opinions and warnings before I seal the deal. 85k maintenance interval exists. At that time, most things should be done. Plugs and filters etc. I would also suggest transmission flush (eventually, especially if any hard shifts) and differentials fluid change. Also around now, some bushings may need to be replaced and brakes could be a concern, but that's not specific to this car.

If it's Quattro, pay special attention to the tire wear and make sure they have been replacing them as sets of 4. Doing otherwise leads to wear on diff fluids which may end up as damage. My 09 had mismatched front to rear tires and had some differential noise. Swapping out the fluids made it like new again.
