Loud...after new tires and wheels
I just replaced my wheels and tires with hartmann rs4 replica and also, conti exterme contact tires 245/40/18
Since they are low profile, I think Audi is more louder then before. Can I look at anything else to fix the noise from tires (i think they are loud bcuz of tires)
Any suggestions or you just have to get use to this? Maybe a different set of tires in 245/45/18 Michelin might be quieter on these cars...
Overall...I am really happy and new wheels looks AWESOME

hey congrats on new wheels. Can you post pics?
I have hartmann DTM RS4, you have the B6 or B7 RS4?
It could be that your tires just make noise. I used to have contis on my Focus SVT and they were louder than other tires Ihad before.
Michelin do tend to be quieter. YOU also are rolling a bigger diameter wheel I am assuming and therefore a shorter side wall so it could be that. Also you got a pretty wide tire. Are you rubbing maybe? is your car lowered? Some 245 tires do rub on our cars

Tires make a huge difference in ride and noise. The Conti Extremes are decent all-season tires, but according to Tire rack there are several much better tires that are also quieter. Personally I have given up on all-season tires and stick with season dedicated tires. Here is Tire Rack's list of the all-season tires that are better and quieter than the Cont Extremes.

I have no rubbing issue in 2006 model with 245. It's just louder due to tires on high speeds....I think I'll stick with seasonal tires. Do you think 245/45/18 might make a different too.
I'm running the same Conti's and there is definitely some road noise. It's normal and probably due to this being a harder rubber tire. If you go softer/quieter, it may wear even faster. I think my Pirelli's, which I use in the winter, are quieter. Just turn the radio two notches louder.

I like my first set of ALL season UHP tires, I used to have seasonal too. But I got tired of having different sets for little use.
Got Goodyear F1 AS. They are nice.
