Default make an upgrade?

hey guys i want to know your opinion on somehting. I have my 2001 A6 2.7 with 108k. its tiptronic which i dont like(love my 6 tho). I've always wanted the fire engine red 6, i just think its a peice of art. So 200 miles away there is a red 2001 A6 2.7t 6 spd manual with 70k on the clock. they are asking 13 change for it at a dealer. what do you think im looking at when i trade my car in? Wonder if they would let me swap the ecu's since im chipped....but let me know if YOU think its worth it.

I dont think you can swap ECU between a tip and manual, but I would ask for 12,000 and see what you get, maybe even less. I think its worth it, if I had the option i would deffinatly do it.

By the way how much was the install on the piggie pipes?

you can on the a4's at least with vag........ what you could do is get a spare ecu...... for a 6speed and swap the ecu's will on a test drive..... then take it back, make an offer........ everything goes good, it is your car........ and you still have your ecu...... just reprgram it all

or ask them if you can keep your ecu and you will swap the ecu's out

I actually gutted them personally with a friend of mine who has a stage 3 s4. For some reason i thought the ecu's would be interchangable b/t the tip and 6spd. It would just suck to buy this car then shell out another 6-700 again for the same program. But hey it may be worth it for a 6 spd.

I'm not sure, but I think I have read the Piggy pipes on the tips are different than the manuals. I don't think you should have to pay them that much more when you trade the car in. The red a6 in a six speed does seem rare. Good luck.

I wasnt talking about the piggies, i was talking about the chip. I would just gut the piggie's on the new 6 if i got it. What do you reckon they give me on a trade in, maybe 6 grand? Its the premium package, has 17' mille miglia's, chip, dv's, and a 1000 sound system
