Default MISSING: 1 Cabin Air Filter Cover for 2000 A6

My son bought a used 2000 A6 2.7T Quattro last week & as we're starting some repairs we noticed it's missing the plastic cover for the cabin air filter. At least the filter was there.

Does anyone know whether the filter cover is common on other audi models & what years?

Can you elaborate a bit? The cabin air filter located below the lower windshield/battery cover that spans the width of the car does not have a cover.

2001 A6 Q

No cover.

If I remember correctly the plastic tray that covers the battery, brake booster etc IS the cover for the cabin filter (top left in the photo above).

Thanks. I pulled the plastic cover that runs width of car just aft of the hood weather strip. Yes, it covers the brake booster on driver's side & cabin air filter on passenger side. I thought there should have been a cover for the air filter to help keep misc crap & water out of it. From what you guys say, there is no separate cover for the air filter and it relies soley on the fender-to-fender cover to shield it.
I gotta admit it sure doesn't seem like a good design, but... it is what it is.

Top left (passenger side) near the windshield. Remove that plastic cover and it'll be sitting right there.

Here's some pics with the fender-fender cover removed. Cabin air filter sitting right there on passenger side. Thanks guys for the no-cover info. While I was there, pulled out the battery & battery tray & cleaned out the drains. One was completely clogged & the other was on it's way. Now onto the sunroof drains.

OK. This was my 1st picture posting & it doesn't seem like I got it right. Why does my picture come up so small, even after clicking the thumbnail attachment?
