mmi anti glare coating failing 07 a6
Folks,
I am wondering if other members of this forum are experiencing the failing of the anti glare coating on their A6 MMI display. I recently wiped down my MMI display with glass cleaner I normally use for my sunglasses. The active agent is I believe an alcohol base. After wiping the screen I noticed a few small streaks marks that won't come off.
Is this normal for a new MMI display to do this? I purchased a new 2007 3.2 quattro A6 about 2 weeks ago.
I am currently exploring whether I can use a new car warranty to replace the screen.
If anyone has had a similar experience, I would welcome your thoughts.
Regards,
Andy

What did you use to wipe the screen with? Paper towel, rag? Hopefully it didnt get scratched. Gut instinct tells me it may be difficult to get replaced. Those screens are really expensive.
I just used some lenscleaner for my eyeglasses. Looks like it is etched on the screen. Seems like it will cost 1k for the part, not including labor. I hope this will be covered under the Audi New Car Warranty. Seem like according to the warranty, they will fix cosmetic items within the first year or 12k miles.
Anyway, the coating should not fall of that easily. This is a product defect.
