Moisture on the inside of the headlight assembly!

I recently noticed moisture on the inside of my one headlight assembly. I was told I could remove the assembly and put it in the oven at a low heat to remove the clear front lens (apparently it softens the seal of the assembly). I could then clean the inside of the lens, apply a new layer of a silicone sealant, reattach the lens and remount it in my car. Anyone ever heard or performed this?

Just would like some input!

RE: Moisture on the inside of the headlight assembly!

Quite normal. It's not something to worry about too much. There are small vents in the bacl of the housing that allow the bulbs to breathe. And ocassionally you'll get moisture in there.

And I found this out, after spending $100 at the dealer to have them basically "blow-out" the housing. It was back again in two days. What a waste of $$$.

Yep, I did that several times on my old Accord for making blackhousing headlights. Just be very very careful with the heat, better to leave it on low heat for a longer time and adjust as necessary than crank it up to Self-Clean mode for 5 minutes.
