multitronic vs tiptronic

i see the tiptronic gets worse gas mileage than multitronic
i drove the multitronic A4 and it was more fun than other similar systems, by a long shot, but not necessary
my question...
my impression was that they have the multitronic system as some form of luxury
wtf does it do????
if guesses at good gearing shifts better than other cars???
that was the impression i have
and does it cause extra problems for the car?
thanks

Ive never driven a multitronic car, its only avaible on FWD cars as far as I can remember. I have not heard of problems, its just a CVT, it has a wider selection of gear ratios, therefore it can be more efficient than the tip tranny. And remember, its an Audi CVT, it will of course be better than any other on the road, lol. Actually, car mags have said that the Audi CVT is light years ahead of the competition in the way it works, smoothness, and the 7 speed manumatic function. I would still rather have the tip tranny, I like having fixed gears, and really, Id like to just have a manual and get rid of the computer crap, but thats my opinion.
