My A6 2.6 estate1996 electric windows dont work even the switches dont light up ive checked all the fuses inc the ones under the bonnet all seem ok, also it now appears the interior light is staying on longer than it did before. Someone said it maybe the door latch assy anyone wanna enlighten me?

I would check the window relays and follow up with the fuses also. The key hole on the outside of the driver side door also controls the windows to close and open. Try sticking your key inand turning it left and hold it left for 5 seconds and see if the windows go down. If they go down turn it to the right for 5 seconds and they should close. If they don't do either, I would say you have an electrical problem somewhere between the batter, fuse, relay, regulator.
