ok guys i need your help on this one,at this very second im trying to change my rear brake pads on my 99 a6 but i cant seem to get the pistons to retract,can anyone get me some tips on how?i tried spinning them but all they do is just spin and not retract

 

You need to rotate the piston and apply pressure at the same time. If the pad was very worn, sometimes it can be difficult to get the piston started. You can borrow a tool from AutoZone that makes the process very simple.
