Need Tire Recommendation for a 2004 Audi A6 3.0 Quattro 16 inch
I am looking to replace the tires for my 2004 Audi A6 3.0 QUATTRO (16 in). Any suggestions? Please note: I live in Chicago so I'd want something that can useful during our harsh winters. The car currently has 65k miles.
Thanks!

LOL This question is like asking a guy which girl he likes best. There are the "you can have her she's too fat for me " clan and the "they need meat on their bones to be beautiful group". Tires are somewhat the same.
I like Yoko TRZ's, dislike Michelins, and hate Bridgestones.
Check Tire Rack and see what they sugest.

I had very bad luck with Michelin Primacies and had Discount Tire switch them off for Continental ContiProContact, which are better. SInce I just got them, I can't say how they will do in the snow. Living in Michigan, I have the same concerns as you, but will buy a set of Hakkas for the winter if the Conti's suck in the snow

I have Bridgestone Potenza G009 on mine and am very happy with them. I have about 10,000 miles on it, but no visible wear. Grips nice and has good winter rating too.
I had Turanza LS-Ts before. They were the best tires I ever had, but they discontinued them. At 80,000 miles tread warranty with exceptional traction, I guess they weren't selling them enough.
For your reference, I have spirited driving characteristic but I don't go race with my Avant. I prefer tires with long tread life and good rain and winter traction. Anyways, tirerack is a great source for info on tires.

I'm going with continental extreme contact... you should look them up on consumer reports since they were one of the best all around rated tires. They have good snow and water traction. The side walls are stiff, which is good for turns and they have "extreeeeme" graphics on the side wall if ur into that sort of thing.. i'm not.
Any reason why you would not buy the same type?
Inquiring minds want to know...
