Hi, I'm new to the Audi forum and it looks like my A6 now requires a transmission rebuild - it's a 2000 4.2 automatic. I'm considering sourcing a remanufactured tranny from Roadmaster Tranz in Michigan. Anyone have experience with their work?

I own a 2000 a6 4.2 also and I replaced my transmission a little over a year ago through Autosports unlimited in michigan which I believe is associated with Roadmaster Tranz. Too make a very long story short my trans needs to be replaced again and its still under my 2 year warranty but I have been unable to reach anyone at Roadmaster tranz or auto sports unlimited.. I found that autosports unlimited filed bankruptcy a couple months ago but roadmaster is still around just unreachable....as of this point it looks like I gotta eat the $3000 dollar trans I bought 13 months ago so no I cannot recommend them for business as I feel ive been royally screwed.

 

Anybody Know how much ZF wants for a reman?

That's the way I would go and just get a good mechanic to install it.
