New 2002 A6 4.2Q Owner -- Parktronic Problem
This is my first Audi, and I have to say I love it. I got it from a local high-end car dealer in CT with just under 100K miles. It's got every available option except for navigation. I got it for $15K -- which is a great deal considering the impeccable shape every aspect of the car is in. If you didn't know the mileage, you would easily assume it had around 40K...
Anyway, on to my actual question. The only problem I've found thus far is with the Parktronic park assistance system. Basically, when I go into reverse I immediately get the solid beep like I'm right next to an object (when there's nothing at all behind me). The car is clean, and it's above freezing, so it can't be frozen water or anything. Is there a recommended method for cleaning the sensors? Could that be the problem? Thanks, Adam |

Is the failure intermittent? I have gone 6 months before problem recurred. In reverse - solid sound then normal beeps. If not working , after solid beep - a high-pitched beep follows and system fails
