Default new audi owner need some advice

Hi guys,

So i got this 98 audi a6 quattro 2.8 dohc 5v on trade, it has 211,500 miles on it, for the most part it runs and drives awesome, some minor hicups i need advice on though, one is the my lcd display is so pixelated that i cant read anything, the bottom row where i assume it tells me miles till empty or mpg ect (the line right above the prnd432) sometimes is flashing, i dont know what it says and dont know if that is an area where a warning would appear? i do have some cel codes as follows, evap gross leak, o2 sens1 bank1, catalyst, emissions smog pump not at correct output or something. now my second hicup is sometimes and its not very often my 2-3 shift or my 3-4 shift flares just a little not enough to make the shift harsh but i can hear the flare and watch the rpms jump 100-200. any ideas that could help me would be awesome!! thanks.

one more quick question if anyone can help, when driving in town 1st 2nd and 3rd engage right away but at a constant 30mph 4th dont kick in for a little bit, it dont seem to do anything funny just seems like its normal for it to drive in 3rd when 30 and under if i accelerate above 40 it will change into 4th immediately , is this normal?
