Default NEw to AUDI - very minor vibration of steering

I bought a used 2003 Audi A6 Q last week. It has done 40K miles. I feel an extremely light vibration on the steering after starting the engine and the vibration is also felt when I touch the front pannel. The vibration is extremely faint, but am having a feeling that it might not be normal. Can someone tell me if such vibrations are ok?

Again, when I took the car for a ride on freeway, after I hit 60 miles speed the steering shows up with increased vibration and again goes off after around 80 mph.

Can someone help me with some replies and educate me about things I should / should not worry much as I am new to Audi.

Thanks in advance.

I have this problem as well, it seems to be a very delicate issue. After I had my 90k mile tuneup by an ASE certified mechanic, it went away, but after I had my new wheels installed by NTB, it came back again.
I am not sure what causes it, I would like some help as well

I have the same problem. I bought my 1999 Audi A6 and the at 40mph I could notice a slight vib. then every 20 mph after it would progressivly get worse. Im not really sure why it is but i dont think that its like a major fault to the car cause it to break or anything.

Your front wheel being out of balance will cause the steering wheel to shake when driving, the rear wheels out of balance will cause your seat to shake. If you have aftermarket wheels installed on your audi but didn't get centering rings with the wheels it will vibrate.
If the car is vibrating when just sitting still your front motor mount or snub mount is probably bad, and have your main motor mounts checked for leaks, they are hydraulic.

I feel an extremely light vibration only when I push on the gas going into a turn, is that from the awd? I'm guessing it's from the from wheels turning and the rear wheels still want to go straight, kinda like the rear is pushing the front making them slide.....I have stock wheels......just a thought.
