Things to look out for
There are a few things you will definately need to look out for with this car.
1st. Timing Belt - this shoudl have been changed prior to 80K miles...If not - be prepared to spend $1500-$2000 for a job done right.
2nd. O2 Sensors, these just go at around 75K - about $70 each, just replace yourself
3rd. CV joints - they suck on this car, once the boot breaks the joint goes to hell quickly. Better off just replacing with reman. axles. about $300
4th Control arms. - expensive and a pain to install. Boots are flimsy and non replacable.
5th. Ignition Coils. about $35 each...really easy to replace, do all 6 at once to save headaches, as well as new plat plugs. Last thing you wanna do is chase a misfire.
6th. Interior starts to go, cup holder in the middle, ashtrays, all spring loaded accesories tend to stay open, expensive to fix. Also, buttons paint starts to peel, although these can be painted with a fine precision brush, the right paint and a lot of patience.
Good Luck with your Audi.

Bought my 02 3.0 quattro 3 months ago and agree w/ both above. I just did my timing belt myself and it only cost $550 or so. If you're not mechanically inclined, bring it to me (NE Florida ) or get ready to spend 20% of the car's value by taking it to the dealer - ridiculously expensive!!
Mine only has 61k and have just replaced two transmission sensors and looks like I'm chasing down a totally other issue w/ brakes - new light came on, but it's intermittent - I'm just praying it works itself out.

totally agree, i love my car, but im glad i have a second car because i have had it torn apart a couple times to fix various issues.... timing, exhaust, heater, and now its in the garage and im searching for a mystery oil leak (i just put a post up for that, comment on it if you have any suggestions)
but next time i buy an audi ill spend more to get one with less miles i bought mine at 85k
has anyone seen the new sexy s5 or new clean diesel a3 ( i tihnk its that model of wagon )
