Thinking I need new tires pretty soon, they are looking a bit bald. I live in NE Ohio so there is a decent amount of snow and ice up here. There is a good firestone deal coming up and they have a big tire sale on the 28th so I want to take advantage of it.
What are some nice sets of tires? I am on a college student budget but I have a little extra money to throw down... I am not looking for the best of the best, but seeing how I love my car, tires do a big part in the leisureliness of it. I THINK I have the 16" or 17" tires as well as aluminum rims for it.
Please give me some ideas!
Thanks!

Tires are a religious subject, but I have had great success with the oem Pirelli P6 Four Seasons. I am on the third set on my A6 (second set lasted almost 50k miles) and use them exclusively in the Michigan winters (run Contis for the summer). I used to drive 30+k miles a year with a kid in AAA travel hockey -- across MI, Ontario, NY, WI, MN, MA, NH in all sorts of weather. I think so highly of these that I put the same on my daughter's A4 3.0 that she drives between MI and NY. They are not the cheapest -- I paid $780 with full "insurance" at Discount Tire last spring. I think the only better winter tire is Blizzaks, but they are not for use in the summer.
